Welcome / Issue 0
An introduction to the PsychReady weekly brief: what it covers, how it follows public APA, SAMHSA, and NIMH guidance, and how to subscribe.
This is Issue 0, a welcome note. It introduces the brief. It does not report study results or facility outcomes.
What the weekly brief covers
Each week is one short, practical item for hospital and clinic behavioral health teams:
- a drill you can run in a huddle
- a checklist for a high-risk skill
- a barrier fix for time, staffing, or turnover
- a plain-language note on public guidance
The brief is for staff education and program planning. It is not clinical advice, and it does not replace accredited training, local policy, or professional judgment.
Aligned with APA, SAMHSA, and NIMH
Issues point back to the same public sources as the training modules:
- APA Clinical Practice Guidelines and APA Telepsychiatry resources
- SAMHSA National Behavioral Health Crisis Care Guidance, SAMHSA Trauma-Informed Approaches, SAMHSA 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and SAMHSA Substance Use Treatment Options
- NIMH Ask Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ) Toolkit, NIMH Suicide Prevention, and NIMH Mental Health Medications
PsychReady is independent and not endorsed by APA, SAMHSA, or NIMH. We summarize those documents. We do not replace them.
